Overview
Set your sights on the sky and get ready to soar. Â鶹ÊÓƵ and Spirit Airlines have partnered to offer the Spirit Wings Pilot Pathway program at the College of Aviation, Science and Technology. This program puts graduates on the fast track to a rewarding career as a Spirit First Officer.
How it Works
- Â鶹ÊÓƵ students enrolled in the aviation technology degree program obtain a recommendation from a faculty member in the College of Aviation, Science and Technology.
- Upon obtaining the faculty member’s recommendation, students can apply for the Spirit Wings Pilot Pathway program after completing their sophomore year or 500 hours of total flight time, whichever comes first.
- Qualified students are interviewed by Spirit and, if selected, given a conditional offer of employment (COE) contingent upon completing Spirit-approved ATP/CTP and Jet Transition courses, graduating with 60 credit hours in the aviation technology degree program and meeting all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) criteria for a Restricted Airline Transport Pilot (R-ATP) certificate.
- Program pilots are mentored as they work toward completing their degree program and the required hours for the R-ATP certificate .
- Graduates who meet all program requirements are hired as A320 First Officers at Spirit.
