The last day to check out at the end of the Fall 2024 semester is Friday, December 13th; students are required to move back home 24 hours after their last final or by that Friday before 6pm, whichever comes first. Any students that will have a Saturday final are required to notify our office. The start of the Spring 2025 semester is on Tuesday, January 21st, residence halls reopen for you to come back on January 19th. All resident students must complete this self-check out form once they leave their rooms for break:
Residents who have a reason to reside on campus during Winter break should submit the housing request form by Tuesday, December 10th by 5pm. There will be an administrative fee for late signups. There is a cost for living on campus over winter break. Any student that will be on campus for either all or partial of Winter break will be charged $100 that will give you $100 worth of flyer dollars to supplement dining over break. Dining hours will be shared shortly. If you do not use all of the $100 over break, it will roll over into Spring 2025 semester for you to continue using. Any students that stay on campus past December 13 and arrive before January 19 will be assessed this fee.
Only students who meet the following requirements may remain on campus during winter break:
- Student workers who are required to work between December 13th, 2024 after 6pm and January 19th, 2025. Your employer must provide an email/form specifying the dates you must work or you must submit an official copy of your work schedule. This includes on and off campus employment. This form needs to be emailed toreslife@lewisu.edu by Tuesday, December 10th by 5pm, students that do not turn in this form by the due date will not be approved to stay during break.
- Out-of-state students
- International students
- Students required to attend a class/final on campus after 6:00 pm December 13th through January 19th. You must email a copy of your class schedule indicating this course enrollment and date. A copy of your class schedule needs to be turned into the office of Residence Life by Tuesday, December 10th by 5pm.
- Athletes who are approved to move in early (1/6/25) still have to sign up for winter break just notate that you’re arriving early and the date; the athletics department will provide the Office of Residence Life rosters of athletes and their designated check in days/times for the spring semester. If you’re going to be in the halls at all during break, please sign up.
- Students must be registered for Spring 2025 courses in order to be eligible to stay over break. If you are not registered for Spring courses, you should make travel arrangements to go home.
